DESIGN INTENT

This garden is built from what the land offers: locally sourced materials, fieldstone and wood chips from the property, and no imported or discarded soil. The result is a substainable approach that works with the existing site rather than reshaping it. Planting choices center on natives, complemented by a few non-natives that thrive in our warming climate and broaden seasonal interest for pollinators, birds, and hummingbirds. A rich mix of species enhances biodiversity and ecological resilience. The design balances function and beauty—welcoming for a young family, comfortable for guests, and expressive of the site’s natural character.
